Ulrike Malmendier is a German economist and the Edward J. and Mollie Arnold Professor of Finance at the University of California, Berkeley. Her research in behavioural economics and corporate finance includes work on managerial overconfidence and on how personal experience shapes economic decisions.
She has been a member of the German Council of Economic Experts since 2022 and received the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize in 2013.
