Olivier Blanchard is a French economist, the Robert M. Solow Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the C. Fred Bergsten Senior Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics.
He served as Economic Counsellor and Director of the Research Department of the International Monetary Fund from 2008 to 2015, and is the author of widely used textbooks on macroeconomics.
