Moritz Schularick is a German economist and president of the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. His research on credit booms, financial crises and long-run asset returns, including work with Alan Taylor, has shaped macro-financial policy debate. He has taught at the University of Bonn and Sciences Po Paris and received the Leibniz Prize in 2022.
