Bengt Holmström is a Finnish economist and Paul A. Samuelson Professor Emeritus of Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research covers contract theory, incentives and the theory of the firm.
In 2016 he shared the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel with Oliver Hart for their contributions to contract theory.
