Demis Hassabis

Demis Hassabis is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Google DeepMind and the chief scientist of Alphabet Inc. He also serves as the chief executive officer of Isomorphic Labs and acts as an artificial intelligence advisor to the government of the United Kingdom. His career includes significant contributions to machine learning and computational neuroscience.

In 2024, Hassabis was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his contributions to protein structure prediction through AI models. His research has also been recognized with the Breakthrough Prize, the Lasker Award, and the Canada Gairdner International Award. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society and has been involved in multiple high-level research initiatives across the technology and biological sectors.

For his services to the field of artificial intelligence, Hassabis was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2017 and received a knighthood in 2024. His professional body of work focuses on the development of general-purpose learning algorithms and their application in scientific discovery.
