Giulio Tremonti (born 1947 in Sondrio) is an Italian politician, lawyer and academic. He served as Minister of Finance in 1994–1995 and as Minister of Economy and Finance in 2001–2004, 2005–2006 and 2008–2011, making him one of the longest-serving holders of that office in the Italian Republic. As minister he oversaw Italy's public finances through the introduction of the euro and the 2008 global financial crisis.

A professor of tax law, he has taught at the University of Pavia and has authored numerous books on economics, globalisation and fiscal policy. He is a member of the Aspen Institute and has been active in international economic debates. In 2023 he returned to Parliament as a senator and was appointed president of the Parliamentary Committee on the Banking and Financial System.
