Scott Bessent is an American investor and public official serving as United States Secretary of the Treasury since 2025.
He spent his career in global macro investing, including as chief investment officer of Soros Fund Management, and founded the investment firm Key Square Group in 2015. He has also taught economic history at Yale University.
