Giampiero Massolo (born 1954 in Florence) is an Italian diplomat and executive. A career diplomat, he served as Ambassador to Poland (2004–2007), Permanent Representative to NATO (2008–2011), and Diplomatic Adviser to the Prime Minister (2011–2012), before becoming Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — the highest rank of the Italian diplomatic service — in 2012.
From 2016 to 2018 he was Director of the Department of Information for Security (DIS), coordinating Italy's intelligence agencies. In the private sector he has chaired the Italian Institute of Technology, Atlantia, and Fincantieri, the shipbuilding group, of which he has been Chairman since 2022. He has also been president of the Italian Cybersecurity Institute.
