Salvatore Rossi (born 1949 in Bari) is an Italian economist and central banker. He spent his career at the Bank of Italy, which he joined in 1976, rising to become Chief Economist and, from 2013 to 2019, Director General and President of the Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS).

From 2019 to 2024 he was Chairman of TIM (Telecom Italia), leading the company through the transformation of its network infrastructure, including the sale of the fixed-line network (NetCo) completed in 2024. He has been Chairman of the World Food Programme's supervisory bodies and has taught monetary economics; he is the author of books and essays on monetary policy and the Italian economy.
