Peter Thiel is an American entrepreneur and investor. He co-founded the payments company Confinity, which merged with X.com to become PayPal, and served as its chief executive until the company's sale to eBay in 2002.
He co-founded the software company Palantir Technologies in 2003 and the venture capital firm Founders Fund in 2005, and was the first outside investor in Facebook. He is the author, with Blake Masters, of Zero to One.
