Marcus Wallenberg
A prominent Swedish banker and industrialist, he serves as the chairman of several major Nordic multinational corporations.
Marcus Wallenberg is a senior member of the Wallenberg family and has held leadership positions across the Swedish financial and industrial sectors. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board for Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), Saab AB, and FAM AB. Previously, he held the role of Chairman for Investor AB and served as the President of the International Chamber of Commerce from 2006 to 2008.
His career began in international banking and manufacturing, with early professional experience at Citibank, Deutsche Bank, and S.G. Warburg & Co. In addition to his primary chairmanships, he has served on the board of directors for organizations including AstraZeneca, Stora Enso, Electrolux, and Temasek Holdings. His naval education included serving as an officer in the Royal Swedish Navy, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant.
Wallenberg is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of War Sciences. He represents Sweden in various international economic forums and has been involved in the management of the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, one of the largest private research funders in Europe. His work focuses on the intersection of long-term industrial ownership and technological research.
