George Soros

George Soros is a Hungarian-American investor and philanthropist known for his work in international finance and his significant contributions to civil society initiatives.

George Soros began his career in British and American merchant banking after earning a Master of Science in philosophy. In 1969, he established the Double Eagle hedge fund, which provided the foundation for Soros Fund Management. He is widely recognized for his 1992 short sale of the British pound, an event that earned him a profit of $1 billion during the Black Wednesday currency crisis. Using his background in philosophy, he developed the theory of reflexivity to analyze capital markets and asset bubbles.
